Preflight messages
Preflight and Convert run the same checks. A failed check stops the conversion; a warning lets it go on.
| Message | What to do |

| No scene | Open a model first, see Opening models. |
| No attribute spreadsheet · geometry only | A warning only. Convert then offers Convert geometry only or Make template spreadsheet, see Your first conversion. |
| Mapping not found, Mapping unreadable or Not a mapping · no join key | Click Build under Mapping and finish the mapping again. |
| No join key | Set Join key in the mapping window, see Map the spreadsheet columns. |
| Mapped columns not in spreadsheet | The mapping was made for another spreadsheet, or a column was renamed. Build the mapping again. |
| Duplicate headers | Two columns have the same name. Rename one in the spreadsheet. |
| Duplicate join keys | An object name appears on more than one row. The later rows are skipped. |
| Not a number | A number column holds text. Those cells go out as -. |
| Dates not ISO 8601 | Write dates as 2027-03-11. |
| IDs stored as numbers | The spreadsheet keeps an ID column as numbers, so leading zeros are lost. Format the column as text, so 0012 stays 0012. |
| Joined | Shows how many objects found a row, see Check the join. |
| No target layer | Turn on Include in output for at least one layer. |
| Empty layers | A layer in the output has no objects. |
| CRS | The CRS does not fit the coordinates. Check it, see Set the coordinate system. |
| No output folder, Cannot create folder or Folder not writable | Choose another folder under Location · name. |
| Invalid characters in file name or File name ends with dot or space | Change Name under Location · name. |
| File in use or read-only | An output file with the same name is open in another program. Close it and convert again. |
