Select flagged objects in 3ds Max

Next to the converted files, Insula3D writes 3ds Max scripts that select objects by name, so you do not have to look for them in the scene.

ScriptWhat it selects
__stage4_rework.msThe objects in __stage4_rework.csv: problems found while the geometry was built, such as a shape that could not be made or an area that disagrees with the spreadsheet.
__recheck.msThe objects in __recheck.csv: flaws found by reading the written file back, such as open or flipped surfaces. Written only when there are any.
__select_fix.ms and othersThe objects of a count you clicked in the Layers panel, such as the ones to fix, saved with Select in Max. Written next to the file open in Insula3D.

To select the objects in 3ds Max:

  1. Open the scene in 3ds Max.
  2. Choose ScriptingRun Script… and pick the script. The objects are selected, and the active viewport zooms to them.
  3. Fix the objects, then send the selection to Insula3D again and convert. See Send a selection from 3ds Max.

The Scripting Listener (F11) shows how many of the objects were selected, and lists the names it could not find in the scene, for example objects renamed since the conversion.

Tip:In Blender, use Copy name on the Scan card, or Copy names in the Layers panel, and search for the names in the Outliner.
